3000 Dinosaur Footprints Uncovered Around Chinese Mine

Scientists in China contend they have detected more than 3,000 dinosaur footprints, all facing the same way.

The footprints were found in eastern Shandong province, The footprints are believed to belong to 6 different types of dinosaurs.

Experts believe the prints are more than 100 million years old and contend they paint an emigration or a panicked try to escape predators.

Dinosaur fossils have been found in about thirty sites in the Zhucheng area.

As a result, Zhucheng City has become well known locally as “dinosaur city”.

The footprints were discovered on a 2,600 sq m (0.64 acre) stone slant in a small ravine following 3 months of work in nearby mines, Xinhua reported.

Scientists believe the prints belong to tyrannosaurs, coelurosaurs and hadrosaurs, among others, Xinhua said.
